The weekend that Double Jeopardy premiered, Ann Deutsch just happened to be visiting fellow BG fan Marge Brashier in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Ann expands on their cheerful get-together:
A Note from Ann Deutsch I recently returned to my home state of Wisconsin for a visit, after having relocated to North Carolina three years ago. I thought this would be a good opportunity to get together with Marge Brashier, since I had previously asked her if she would like to meet before I had planned this trip. Luckily Double Jeopardy was just out at the theaters, so we could plan our meeting around that. It is so much more fun to see a Bruce movie with another fan!
After a few scheduling discussions, we agreed to meet for a Sunday matinee (after Marge's return from visiting her mother) with a chatty lunch to follow the show. Needless to say, luncheon conversation was completely dominated by talk about Bruce and the movie we had just seen. It was a big thrill for us to see his great face on the big screen in such a major role and we especially loved the scenes with Tommy Lee. But we also chatted about Wisconsin.
When lunch was over, Marge took me back to the theater to get my car and being the Bruce fans that we are, we could not resist getting our picture taken in front of the Double Jeopardy sign. Finding a nice young man in front of the theater to take our picture made the afternoon a complete success.
Marge is an absolutely delightful person and it was a lot of fun for me to meet another dedicated fan, although it was much too short a visit. Perhaps, if and when I get back to Wisconsin, we can do this again. I really have enjoyed meeting fellow Bruce fans wherever I travel.
